1,000 Mile Journey Event Director

Description:

The Rainbird Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit committed to the end of child abuse globally, is seeking a highly qualified professional to manage the annual 1,000 Mile Journey. This will quickly become full time position as the walk becomes a national event.

Qualifications:

• Impeccable sense of integrity, responsibility, and accountability
• Committed to the end of child abuse
• 3 -5 years successful fundraising, event planning, & corporate solicitation
• Love raising money and have a healthy relationship with money
• Great delegator, facile with motivating and managing volunteers
• Oversee many types of projects simultaneously
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent references (5)
• Flexible with the demands of a dynamic, fast-growing, not-for-profit

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of The 1,000 Mile Journey
• Manage event logistics & materials
• Work with volunteer leadership on their accountabilities and deadlines for event
• Provide strategic support for each event
• Maintain fundraising budget
• Create, develop, and maintain powerful alliances with corporate backers
• Design and distribute activity reports and follow-up to Director of Development that
• summarize revenue, expenses, invite responses, and other info as needed

Legal Research Intern

Research Intern

Your average week with us is spent creating new and improved ways to research the mountains of information related to child abuse in order to streamline this info and make it useful. And these mountains aren't as treacherous as the Appalachians = less chance of hypoxia or having to drink your own pee in an emergency situation.

Objective

• Gain experience in research. While you're doing research for a non-profit organization committed to the end of child abuse, you will get experience and training in learning and developing state-of-the-art research skills.

MOB Unit Researcher

The Rainbird Foundation has a special unit called the Mobilization Unit, or MOB Unit, which builds short-term projects that cause long-term change for children. This unit alters cultural perceptions and mobilizes large groups of people to take small steps to END child abuse.

The MOB Unit Researcher takes a project idea and researches it to ensure that the project is a success.

Responsibilities:

• Have a complete understanding of Rainbird and align with MOB projects.
• Research via internet, publications, phone, and email
• Follow up communications once they’ve begun.
• Report research in a timely fashion
• Present findings using Word, Excel, GoogleDocs
• Any/all research duties assigned by MOB Unit Director

Skills & Experience needed:

• Hard-working and self-motivated
• Internet savvy
• Organized, diligent researcher
• Experienced in research and presentation of research
• Integrity, timely response to work requests

MOB Unit Generator

The Rainbird Foundation has a special unit called the Mobilization Unit, or MOB Unit, which builds short-term projects that cause long-term change for children. This unit alters cultural perceptions and mobilizes large groups of people to take small steps to END child abuse. The MOB Unit Generator recruits people to work on Mob Unit projects. They publicize projects so that folks can share these projects with others. Kind of along the lines of Jesus, L Ron Hubbard & Mary Kay. How hard can it be?

Responsibilities:

• Have a complete understanding of Rainbird and align with MOB projects.
• Recruit friends, family, colleagues, & networks to participate in MOB projects.
• Publicize MOB projects in every place imaginable.
• Follow up communications once they’ve begun.
• Be committed to the End of child abuse.

Skills & Experience needed:

• Demonstrated initiative
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Social media savvy; Facebook & Twitter addict
• LOVE talking to people.
• Enthusiastic and able to inspire people to do things
• Organized, responsible, and involved in group activities
• Creative thinking

MOB Unit Commentator

The Rainbird Foundation has a special unit called the Mobilization Unit, or MOB Unit, which builds short-term projects that cause long-term change for children. This unit alters cultural perceptions and mobilizes large groups of people to take small steps to END child abuse. The MOB Unit Commentator is the Internet voice of Rainbird, commenting on important news stories about child abuse. Think Kathy Griffin or Ryan Seacrest.

Responsibilities:

• Create a news Google Alert for “child abuse”
• Generate a conversation on child abuse by commenting on high traffic news stories, or stories with comments/discussion
• Read only stories that go beyond reporting on a specific incident of child abuse
• Create a Google Doc to save any stories relating to Mob Unit projects, potential projects, and problems that perpetuate child abuse

• Demonstrated initiative
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills • Internet savvy
• Self-motivated

Materials and Communication

Description:
 

The Rainbird Foundation needs a highly qualified professional to run our social media presence, create action-campaign materials, and publicize each campaign as part of the MOB Unit, for the purpose of educating people about corrupted people, businesses, and systems related to child abuse. (they should also have major in coming up with a better job title than this)

 

Qualifications:

  • 3 -5 years experience with social media, networking, and marketing techniques 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Excellent team player as well as self-directed and self-generative

  • Facile with multiple social media platforms and current with what’s new

  • Flexible with the demands of a dynamic, fast-growing, not-for-profit

  • Oversee all social media communication for the mobilization unit 
  • Turn research into copy for action campaigns and mobilization petitions 
  • Generate movement and mobilization through written communication 
  • Be the voice of the mobilization unit on social media sites; create a conversation

  • Create, develop, and maintain powerful alliances with organizations and leaders

Legal Oversight Coordinator

 Description:   

We need a highly qualified legal professional to provide oversight for our Mobilization Unit. Plus, it'd just be nice to have legal representation for the narrator of this website due to lewd jokes and inappropriate content.


Qualifications:  

  • Impeccable level of integrity, responsibility, and accountability 
  • Committed to the end of child abuse 
  • Not only unafraid of shaking the status quo to end child abuse, but thrilled to do so 
  • 3 -5 years successful law practice (bar-certified and licensed preferable) However, we will interview 3rd year law students with excellent grades and letters of reference. 
  • Familiar with, or studying, children/family law  
  • Familiar with, or studying, international human rights law 
  • Able to provide oversight to guide The Rainbird Foundation in producing their projects 
  • Excellent references (5) 
  • Able to provide 5-10 hours of legal work per week (will vary) 
  • Flexible with the demands of a dynamic, fast-growing, not-for-profit  

Responsibilities:  

  • Provide legal oversight to the mobilization unit regarding projects and actions 
  • Provide insight and clarification on children/family law cases connected to Rainbird 
  • Consult with the mobilization unit, COO, and Founder regarding specific legal questions concerning the organization and projects 
  • Provide timely answers to legal questions regarding active Mobilization Unit projects
